Sometimes it’s hard to enjoy your workouts.
Today I wanted to list a few tips from a seasoned personal trainer.
There are no mandatory exercises. If you simply hate a certain movement, I would encourage you to seek out a similar exercise that targets the muscle you are wanting to workout. Not everyone likes front squats. Try something like a goblet squat or low foot position on a leg press. I hate front squats too
There will never be a end all be all workout split. Training is a very flexible thing. As long as you find a training split that works well with you and your schedule, that’s what matters. If you find something gives you good results, stick with it. People are so different that even if you did the same workouts as someone else, you’d have different results!
Pro lifters use the same boring techniques that beginners use. Squats, bench presses, deadlifts, and rows. These are the very basics of training programs even though sets and reps and programs will vary, these movements will never die.
Avoid fad workouts. There will never be exercises that target fat deposits or burn more than other movements. Leave that to your nutrition
To have fun with your workouts, be sure you are using a program you like and that is challenging in good ways that make you feel accomplished after the gym. Mix it up every 5-8 weeks and challenge yourself to get better every week
Be ready for workout programs to drop this summer!
